Seattle Architecture

Seattle is located in the US state of Washington and is one of the largest cities in the Northwestern United States.  It's located just south of the Canadian-US border and boasts some of the country's most famous buildings and interesting architecture.

Before the first European visitors, the Seattle area had been inhabited for 4,000 years.  The Duwamish people were a tribe that had established 17 villages around the area of Elliot Bay.  George Vancouver was the first European to visit the Seattle area in 1792 during his expedition to chart the Pacific Northwest.  The settlement was eventually claimed by Arthur A. Denny and his group of travelers known as the Denny Party when they arrived at Alki Point in November of 1851. read more . . .
